"Be careful. He has a concussion"

So the whole Hallanderson family was hanging out last night when I noticed Chase's nose was bleeding. My initial thought was that with this funky weather and all the heaters going his nasal passages were dry. A while later I noticed a bruise on his head.. this made my Mommy Radar go off the scale and all these scenorios started going through my head.

"OMG. Chase fell, hit his head, broke his nose and has some internal injury that is slowing messing up his organs." or
"OMG! Chase hit his head and now his nose is bleeding! He must have brain trauma! He's slowly becoming mentally damaged and I didn't even notice!" and
"OMG! CHASE HAS A CONCUSSION!!!!! HE'S SLOWLY TURNING INTO A VEGETABLE! CALL AN AMBULANCE" 

OK.. So I'm extreme.. You get all of me or none of me.
ANYHOO! My first thought.. well.. rational thought.. is to check his pupils. So, I got a flashlight and checked them! They were A-OK! My next move was to call the doctor who was totally non-scholant about the whole thing.

The moral of this story? Not one!

Ahhhhh... motherhood.

"Honey! I'm home!" That's what the stomach bug said when it came to our house this weekend. Starting Friday Tom has some KILLER  gases coming from his tiny body. One. Year. Later.

    How incredibly ironic that I stumbled upon my blog today.. when just a few days ago I posted my "One year later" photos on Facebook.     So, one year later what has happened? Well, a lot. One thing that hasn't happened? The Chocolate 5k that I discussed in my last blog post ONE YEAR AGO! HA!     I've always been horrid at New Year Resolutions, so I'm not surprised I never made it to the land of the chocolate eating athletes. BUT I WILL THIS YEAR!!! Well, not THIS year technically but at the next running of the chocolate in February of 2014. AND instead of running with the 5k level athletes.. I will be in the coveted 15k group!! (A side note, while I will be one of the 15k groupies.. I will not be one to envy.. pretty sure I'll need chocolate to up my sugar levels so I don't pass out during the 9 miles.)      Anyhoo, back to my post title. A year later.
